The Crossways Bible survey course is Crossways International's (CI) most comprehensive course - a veritable "master class" on the Bible - designed for those who want to work through the Scriptures in detail.

With 40 units covering the Old Testament and intertestamental periods, and 20 units covering the New Testament, the course is the perfect travel guide for an unforgettable, in-depth journey through all 66 books of the Bible plus the Apocrypha. Students gain eye-opening insights into the culture and traditions of Jesus' day, so that His message explodes with radical new relevance to our own time.

The 60 unit course will be taught over two academic years (September - May) with 30 units being taught each year.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Tell me about Crossways International
Crossways International (CI) helps people read the written Word, to understand the Living Word, and to demonstrate that Word in their lives.  To achieve this, CI creates and distributes written and visual Bible study materials and trains teachers to use them. During the past 25 years, CI's materials have helped millions of people in more than 60 countries around the world understand the "big picture" revealed by God in the Bible and His call to servant discipleship.

 2. Who will teach the Crossways course at The Lutheran Church of Our Savior (LCOS)?
The course will be led by several individuals who have attended the Crossways week-long leader workshop.  At the current time, the LCOS Crossways Ministry team includes Pastor Donald Schaefer, Pastor Robert Mylod, Debbie Lennox, and Jim McDonald.

3. Will the same people teach the same days every week?
No. The class leadership will be rotated on a regular basis so that all members of the leadership team will teach both classes.

4. When will classes be offered?
Classes will be offered twice each week starting the week of September 11, 2007. One class will be offered on Tuesdays from 6:30-8:30pm. Another class will be offered on Thursdays from 9:30-11:30am.  The same material will be offered at each class so you only need to attend one session each week.

5. Can I switch back and forth between the two classes?
It is preferred that you stay with one class (either Tuesday or Thursday) so that fellowship and class support can be fostered.  However, if your schedule precludes your attending your regular class on a particular week, you should feel free to "make up" your class at the other session.

6. How do the class sessions accommodate holidays?
There will be breaks throughout the year for holidays (e.g., Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year, Holy Week).

7. What is the cost of the Crossways course?
The Crossways course will cost each student $65.00 for the entire two-year, 60 unit course.  The full price of the course is due at the start of the first year.

8. What preparation is required for each class?
Each class will require that you read a portion of the Bible and answer several questions before attending the class.  Students can expect to spend between 2 and 3 hours in study and preparation prior to each class.
