Serving In Our Church
Below is a list of just some of the ministries our people are engaged in within our walls:
-Pastoral support
-Prayer support
For urgent needs, a prayer chain is activated, which consists of several members who are alerted by phone and offer immediate prayer. Our list of ongoing prayer needs is printed on bookmark-sized paper and is included in each week's bulletin for your personal use. Requests include: those who are grieving, missionaries, shut-ins, those hospitalized or undergoing tests or surgery, those with cancer, our troops, and other needs as they arise.
-Bible & topical study groups
Opportunities for learning and growth include: Men's Bible Study, Selah Bible Study, WINGS Bible Study, Sunday Bible Study, Crossways Bible Study. Click here for more information on these offerings.
-Support groups
Groups are offered on an ongoing and an as needed basis and have included such topics as: Cancer patients & caregivers, Widows, Grief, Small Steps (physical, emotional, & spiritual health)
-Shepherds program
Each member of the congregation is assigned a Shepherd to assist the pastoral staff in caring for the needs of the members. Shepherds are called to be present for those in their care by facilitating regular communication and connectedness and seeing to their spiritual well being through prayer and personal contact.
-Prayer shawl ministry
A dedicated group of knitters and crocheters create one-of-a-kind shawls for people who need a special and tangible awareness of God's presence. Prayers are offered as the shawls are being made and then are blessed before they are delivered. Shawls have been given to those undergoing cancer treatments, recovering from surgery, celebrating a new baby, grieving the loss of a loved one, or struggling with ongoing health issues. This group is open to all who are interested and meets the second Tuesday of each month at 9:30am.
-Fellowship dinners
Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas are occasions on which we gather to celebrate as a faith family. During the church year seasons of Lent and Advent, we also host soup & salad suppers before our Wednesday night worship services. All of these events are open to everyone.
