WINGS BIBLE STUDY AND PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY WILL NOT MEET IN DECEMBER. WE WILL RESUME OUR NORMAL SCHEDULE IN JANUARY.
THIS CHRISTMAS SEASON Social Ministry will be providing “Bags Of Joy” to be distributed to the homeless and needy at the area soup kitchens. These people are the most easily forgotten especially at the holidays. You can find Christmas bags along with a list of suggestions in the Narthex. Please consider filling a bag and returning it by Next Sunday, December 19th.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED to host coffee hours for all the Sundays in January. If you are interested in helping, please contact Shirley Fleegle or Lois Peregoy. Thank you!
A NEED YOU CAN HELP WITH RIGHT OUTSIDE OUR DOORS! We are collecting food for children in West Rehoboth that will be distributed by New Beginnings during Christmas break. You can bring donated items through December 19th and put them under the tree in the Fellowship Hall. Suggestions would be: soup, macaroni and cheese, cereal, packaged peanut butter and crackers, trail mix, juice boxes, and any other non-perishable items you would like to provide. As always, we thank you for your generosity in meeting this need in our community!
REGULAR OFFERING ENVELOPES FOR 2011 have been distributed and placed in your mail box in the Narthex. Note that many account numbers for 2011 have changed and the number is now printed in red on the envelope. Please continue to use your 2010 green number envelopes until the first of the New Year. If you would like us mail your new envelopes to your home please contact the Church Office @ 227-3066. Extra boxes are available upon request for all non-members. Please double check the name on the label on your box of envelopes to make sure you have picked up the correct box.
THE REHOBOTH CHRISTMAS PARADE was this past Monday evening and, as they have for the past several years, the LCOS Sunday School had a float entered in the parade. At the end of the evening, the judges announced that our float came in first place in our category! Congratulations to our Sunday school students who braved the freezing cold weather to participate in the parade, and a huge THANK YOU to Kathy & Al Verratti for coordinating this year’s efforts, as well as to all our other volunteers who helped decorate the float, as well as those who marched with our group.
COOKIES FOR SCI Our bakers made and packaged 2,700 cookies to be distributed at the Sussex Correctional Institute this past week. Our cookie organizer, Bertha Scott, wants to thank everyone who donated cookies, as well as everyone who came to church on Wednesday morning to package them up.
THE SAND DOLLARS will meet Tuesday, December 14th at 10 AM in the Sanctuary. Please note the special date for the December meeting. We have a fun activity planned for our Program. Our project for the month is "Home of the Brave". See the Sand Dollars’ booklet for details. Let us remember to help those who served us. We have a special luncheon planned: soup, salad and a dessert. During this Christmas season, please appreciate all that God has given us and pray for those less fortunate. We welcome new friends. Please bring a friend.
